Arch’s Wolmanized® ET® poles are CCA-treated poles with a refined hydrocarbon oil emulsion treatment in the outer layer of the pole. These patented ET poles are superior because they combine the more appealing attributes of both CCA and oil infused poles.

Advantages of Extra Treated (ET) Poles
  • Less expensive
  • Less maintenance
  • Resistant to fungal decay and termites
  • Easier to climb
  • Less rotation during storage
  • Extended lifespan
  • Easier for inspection agencies to measure & verify
  • Safer for the environment
Arch's ET poles come with a 50 year warranty from the manufacturer that covers their high quality CCA chemical treatment.

ET Poles and the Environment

ET poles are safe to handle without any additional precautionary measures being taken, are clean, have no odor, and will not stain the surrounding area. They also will not leave any undesirable residue on the exterior portion of the pole.
This is due to CCA's very high chemical fixation rate which nearly eliminates any preservative migration along the groundline and makes future remedial treatments unnecessary. CCA poles have excellent fixation rates because the compounds in the treated wood are "fixed" inside the product in a "highly insoluble state" and the chemicals are now very resisant to leaching, which means that they do not migrate or evaporate. This high fixation rate, coupled with CCA's very low corrosivity helps to greatly reduce maintenance and upkeep after the pole has been put in service.

CCA poles have been in service for over seventy years now, and their safety for the environment as well as humans, flora and fauna has been thoroughly researched and recorded by numerous parties.
