| Primary Lumber Manufacturing
At Swift Lumber the lumber manufacturing process begins at the sawmill, where logs are processed into rough green lumber. The sawmill is set up to be as versatile as possible so that our cutting program can be shifted quickly in an effort to meet our customer’s changing demands. This also helps us adapt to an ever-changing lumber market. Once the rough green lumber has been sorted and stacked at the sawmill stacker, it is transported to the dry-kilns. The dry-kilns are then used to dry the green lumber to a predetermined moisture content, which varies according to which product is being dried. After the rough dry lumber has exited the dry kilns, it is stored until it is ready for processing at the planer mill. The planer mill is also set up for maximum versatility. It is capable of running a wide assortment of lumber sizes, both rough sawn and dressed, and is capable of sorting specialty lumber products from these, depending upon the quantity needed. |

Lumber Remanufacturing
Here at Swift Lumber we try to find a way to use every stick of lumber to produce something of value. One of our most valuable tools in this pursuit is our remanufacturing plant. It allows us to take lumber that many companies would consider useless and salvage another product from it. We are also able to take our more aesthetically pleasing stock and create beautiful pine flooring and other quality products from it.
