These days it is common for wood products to be used in applications where the building materials will encounter very difficult environmental conditions. The most efficient way to ensure the longevity of these products is to use pressure treated pine. Pine is a very good candidate for treatment due to its cellular structure, which allows it to absorb the chemical preservative with relative ease.

Wherever wood is subjected to high levels of environmental exposure we recommend the installation of CCA treated wood products. No other pressure treated wood can match the durability, performance and suitability of pine when it is used to make pressure treated lumber, treated utility poles and marine treated piling. It’s not uncommon for these products to last decades…even under severe exposure conditions.

Two particular areas in which chemically treated wood products are particularly useful are as utility poles and as marine piling.

A quality treated pole is essential for utility pole applications. Due to the high costs associated with replacing utility poles, they need to be highly resistant to problems along the ground line; such as, rot, decay and termite infestation.

Replacing piling that were used in dock construction can be equally expensive and labor intensive due to the obvious complexity of the removal and replacement process.
